We’re excited to roll out Paid Memberships, a new capability now available to every brand on ethos. Brands can now run a traditional free loyalty program, offer a paid membership, or run a combination of both side-by-side—giving them more flexibility than ever to design the customer experience that fits their business.
With Paid Memberships, brands can charge for access to premium perks, exclusive access, VIP tiers, special rewards, or anything else they choose to gate. And because it’s fully integrated with Shopify, the entire experience feels completely natural from end-to-end.

How it works:
Brands simply create a product in their Shopify store, like “Annual Membership” or “VIP Access”, and connect it to a paid tier inside ethos. Our system automatically checks whether a customer has purchased that product. If they have, they’re granted access instantly. No workarounds, no separate checkout flows, no extra apps to manage.
This flexible approach is already sparking creativity. Some brands are selling time-bound memberships (like one year of access). Others are using existing products as the “key” that unlocks a premium tier. Once a customer purchases the item, access is granted automatically. It’s seamless, reliable, and built on tools merchants use every day.
